The first Tribal Council of merge, it is never an easy one. Jaime was evicted and is the first member of our jury. Always keep in mind, Jurors are people who can potentially be that one extra vote you need in order to win the game!

Most of you are great with your confessionals. But for some of you, try to update the viewers with what your true thoughts are as new situations develop and arise throughout the day. You don't need questions to post in your confessional! Anytime something comes up, just write in here like a personal diary so the lurkers can keep up with you. We can see your chats, but we can't gather what your true thoughts are about some things going on since you're all having your game faces on when talking with other castaways, and the lurkers are always wanting to know if your words to someone may be true or not, before a challenge or tribal happen! Now, let's get into the questions.

  1. As said above, we are also in the jury phase now. Congrats on making jury! Let's ask the big question everyone in this phase gets asked: How important do you think jury management is for you?
  2. What would you say has been the most difficult thing about merging into one tribe?
  3. For some of you, that was your first tribal. For others, this was like any other round. How did you feel about this particular tribal council? Was Jaime leaving the right call for your game, or would you have wanted someone else first as the merge boot? Were you nervous or excited with all the many whispers going around at Tribal?
  4. Are you having fun with your Stranded experience? What are some of your favourite highlights so far?
  5. Could we get an updated trust rankings with all of your new tribemates included? Top to bottom

Episode 07: The Brood Parasite of Pachamama
Birds, such as the common goldeneye, indigobirds, whydahs, honeyguides, cowbirds and New World cuckoos, that lay their eggs in other birds' nests, in order to have their chicks incubated through fledging by the parents of another bird, often of another species.
Day 14 - Morning/Afternoon

I finally had some conversations with all of the original Kallpa members. It actually went pretty well. I think being across from them for so long, you get a weird sense of animosity towards them when it's not really warranted.

I ended up reconnecting with JR after last night. I apologized for being an ass to him and he did the same back. We just had a brief talk about the game and how he's against the wall, so he really had no options but to play like he was playing. He's right though - I can't fault him for it. I don't know where to go here from JR, but it's probably better to build this relationship rather than continue to wall him out. He's going to be an eventual jury member should our plans go correctly, and I need all the help I can get.

Leslie was a very pleasant conversation. We just talked about our lives (where we live, work, etc.) and some video games. She's definitely a super positive person and I really like that about her. I'm not sure what I can do with that as it's hard to turn on Ancha, but you can never say no to a number down the road.

Erik wasn't much of a conversation. i just learned he was from Australia and that's about it. He's not really online a lot and I think that's starting to be good for him. Sara has mentioned that keeping him around because of his inactivity is good as he wouldn't be able to swing anything in his favor.

Jaime was definitely the heartbreaking conversation today. She was super worried about being the one going home and also mentioned how she's been on the bottom the entire time. There's something about our conversation that I just really liked and it just made me feel like "Fuck...I don't want her to go this way". It would have been great if JR went instead but I'm not really going to be the person to change the vote around....maybe.

Day 14 - Evening

As the vote drew closer, I spoke to some of the tribe about our plan. For some reason, the Jaime vote still wasn't sitting right with me. I put out some feelers about it and found that Evvie and Deshawn were also feeling bad about voting for Jaime. Deshawn eventually said that he would champion a change for JR and see how it goes. I did the same by talking to Shan, Evvie, Sara, and Xander as well. Shan was having a tizzy about the vote being changed. I guess she's not going to handle all the changes that come around closer to tribal - which is probably good news for me. Evvie was down for the change to JR of course, but wanted to make sure we actually had everyone on board. Xander didn't have a vote, but expressed that he didn't think changing the vote was a good idea. Sara was the biggest opponent of the idea. She said that JR was useful for when we wanted to get someone out later as no one else really wanted to work with him. She also said that if Jaime has the ability to change our minds like this using emotions, it's probably a sign of what she can do in this game. Hey, that's a pretty fair assessment.

So unfortunately, I had to tell Deshawn to give up on the idea and we quickly had to get everyone on the same page to vote Jaime. I phrased it for Shan and Evvie by saying it was Sara's last word that said no to the idea and that what she says goes right now. This way I can paint a picture of Sara being the mastermind of our tribe and take the heat off of Deshawn and Myself for trying to switch the plan. That was quite a bad move on my part. I have to really start taking a back seat to these plans, especially next round when I don't have immunity.

As said above, we are also in the jury phase now. Congrats on making jury! Let's ask the big question everyone in this phase gets asked: How important do you think jury management is for you?
Thanks! Jury management is incredibly important. It's why I decided to turn my conversation with JR around. I also tried my best to make a good impression on Jaime before she left as well. I'm going to be breaking a lot of promises and relationships soon enough, and I need to think about how I'm going to explain myself to these people at the end. I've had a very good track record with my final tribal speech, so I think I do have a good chance at changing some minds. But having people leave with a sour taste is also worrying. It's a thin line to walk when you play this game.

What would you say has been the most difficult thing about merging into one tribe?
Managing all of the relationships you're not a part of. Everyone is talking to each other and they're also making their own groups, alliances, strategies, etc. I need to ramp up my management of all the players left and make sure I know who is close to who. This is when those lines start to blur. You're not playing correctly if you don't have a good working relationship with each person in this game. And so, I have to think about all the different relationships that could cause my downfall as I go deeper in this game.

Day 14 - Tribal Council
For some of you, that was your first tribal. For others, this was like any other round. How did you feel about this particular tribal council? Was Jaime leaving the right call for your game, or would you have wanted someone else first as the merge boot? Were you nervous or excited with all the many whispers going around at Tribal?
Oof...tribal is not fun! Especially with all those damn whispers. When I saw JR whisper to both Evvie and Shan and they both responded back, it made me feel like all of my worries were true about them. It was like a "I fucking knew they were gonna flip on us". I tried to wait a bit and see if any whispers would come my way to reassure that the plan was good, but more whispers just kept flying back and forth that I had to join in. Sara responded saying that it was just JR trying to flip the vote to Heather. Evvie told the same story. At that point, I wasn't going to change my vote and screw things up, so I just left it as it was.

Thankfully, Jaime did go home. It wasn't my first pick, but it had to happen to solidify the Ancha 7. We finally voted and our plan worked. However, there was a stray vote for Leslie and it caused the vote to go 5-4-1. We almost lost that and someone on Ancha is the culprit. Now this is going to be a topic of discussion for the next few days as we head into the next round. It makes me wonder, was the Leslie vote a loyalty test for someone? Did someone make a mistake and vote the wrong blonde girl? What could possibly be the meaning of that stray vote. And if it's Kallpa messing with us, who on our side voted for Heather? I'm wondering if maybe someone was spooked by all the whispers and it caused someone to vote incorrectly?

Anyway, after the vote there was a huge discussion going around about who the Leslie vote could possibly be. Heather of course, as usual, threw out Sara's name. Shan said that Heather was blaming Sara or Evvie. That's pretty crazy. I talked to Heather and the conversation was quite different. Instead, Heather said it couldn't be Evvie because they were so close. So did Shan just say the Evvie line to push us in another direction and not realize it was her who voted against us? This started a conversation with Sara who ended up making a group chat with Xander and I to discuss the possible Ancha traitor and decide on the next vote. I'll have to give another confessional tomorrow morning as this group chat is still going on as of 2:15AM.

Are you having fun with your Stranded experience? What are some of your favourite highlights so far?
I'm having an incredibly swell time. I'm loving the paranoia, the anxiety, the scheming, the ups, the downs. All of it is so fun and it's bringing me back to my old days of ORGs. And to add to the experience, I think you guys are putting together such a great game for us. I don't think I've played an ORG that is so well organized and filled with all these impressive graphics. The tribal! The hover on the player banner! Everything is just so well done.

Highlights so far:
  • Xander as an alliance member. I can't get enough of this guy. Best alliance I could ask for.
  • The photoshops / memes we've been making have been so great. I just know 'Xander'd' is going to be a phrase we use for the rest of the game
  • Winning 5 immunity challenges in a row!
  • Making it to the merge/jury!
  • The friendships. I'm hoping despite the backstabbing, we'll all be able to hang out online together and chill when this is all over.

Are you talking about right now? Right now Xander is making a fucking mess of things with Shan. The whole problem is, Shan is ready to flip to the Kallpa 3 and I'm trying to explain to Xander that while Evvie is unsure of where her place is in the game, she might be looking for a place to go. If Shan and Evvie both realize each other are in the same position, they flip to the Kallpa 3 and it's over for what we've built. Right now I'm trying to just damage control the hell out of this conversation but Xander keeps digging us into a bigger hole.

I honestly had such a perfect position with Shan and the ability to choose where she goes and now Xander is blowing up my spot. He just had to get involved in my conversation with Shan. This is honestly such a mess, I have no idea how I'm going to recover this now. I basically have no option but to go with Shan and flip to the Kallpa 3. God damn it, sometimes these people don't realize what they're doing.

Day 14 - Evening

As you can see from the above, we had a bit of a situation last night. It all started with a discussion I had with Shan after the challenge. It looks like Shan is noticing her place in the game is maybe at 7th or 6th and that she needs to make a big move. That big move involves taking JR's deal to use the Kallpa 3 votes to take down Sara or Xander. This is a huge blow to our plans. I explained to Xander what was happening and how we can work this out, but against better judgement, he flew right into a conversation with Shan while I was trying to move her towards maybe doing it next round and having JR go this round.

Once Xander messaged Shan, she stopped talking game immediately and asked if I said something to him. My whole relationship with Shan hinges on the fact that I'm not close to Xander and Sara on the level I am with her. Xander jumping into game talk with her ruins that. To add to this, Shan and Evvie have both said something similar to me today about not knowing their place in the game. That is incredibly dangerous. If Evvie and Shan both feel their game is slipping away, they will talk

I had to explain this for 3 hours to Xander but sometimes this guy is just so moronic, it's insane. I'm glad I'm taking him to the F3 as there's no way he's going to be able to beat me in a debate. At about 3:30AM, I basically gave up trying to explain things to him and left. Before falling asleep, I thought another way of phrasing this would be to tell Evvie that Xander was at risk of going due to Shan's Kallpa 3 plan.

Day 15 - Morning/Afternoon

When I managed to get online today, Evvie and Xander were the only ones active. This was the perfect chance and so I asked Evvie for a Spiral Stoners meeting. In the chat, we established that both Evvie and Xander (lie) are feeling their games slip away and that we need to take back the power in the game. I explained that Shan was thinking of flipping with JR to vote out Sara and that Shan was saying Evvie was the one who voted Leslie. This way we could present the threat of Shan (since she was smart enough to consider alternative options to the Ancha 7) and also the fact that Evvie can't trust her when she's throwing her name around.

Evvie presented the idea of voting Erik first instead of JR. Personally, I think that's going to be a hard sell. Deshawn and Heather both want JR gone bad and I had just convinced Sara this week to vote out JR at our next opportunity. We decided that I could bring up the Erik plan to Deshawn and that Evvie could bring up the Erik plan to Heather. Then we would have to re-establish the Shan-Evvie relationship and get her to vote Erik and save JR for a Sara blindside the following week. We ended the conversation with the following boot order:

10th - Erik
9th - Sara
8th - JR
7th - Shan
6th - Leslie
5th - Heather
4th - Deshawn

It made sense to all of us. For now, we're going to focus on the Erik and Sara vote outs and then work on the rest down the line. I'm still not 100% cool with voting out Sara because she trusts Xander and I so implicitly. But this is the only way to re-establish our relationship with Evvie. I think it also allowed our chat to end on a high note where Evvie was a part of the decision making and is also choosing who goes home next. Now, we have the weekend to put the following plan into action:

1. Re-establish the Shan-Evvie relationship under the guise of a flip to take Sara down
2. Have Shan agree on voting Erik and save JR for next week to vote out Sara
3. Have Evvie convince Heather to vote for Erik instead of JR
4. Have Abe (Myself) convince Deshawn to vote for Erik instead of JR
5. Have Xander convince Sara to vote for Erik instead of JR

I'll use these plan points as a reference for the rest of my confessionals this weekend. To start, Evvie and I found Shan online maybe 30 minutes after our Spiral Stoner meeting.

1. Re-establish the Shan-Evvie relationship under the guise of a flip to take Sara down
Evvie spoke to Shan soon after our meeting and discussed the whole Jaime vote situation. Evvie explained to Shan that the Leslie vote wasn't her and that she thought Shan had done it. Shan ended up telling me that she now thinks my idea of Deshawn voting Leslie out of sympathy for Jaime might be true. Shan talked about how Evvie and her reconciled and everything was good. The nice thing about this though, is that this is the second time Shan has felt lied to by Evvie, further putting her on guard and keeping her closer to me. I prefer things to stay that way just in case Shan wants to flip this vote and she tells me before Evvie.

I copy/pasted chunks of my conversation with Shan to Evvie to show that Shan was trusting her again and to also show that Heather is being blamed for this whole mess. God, I love how much of a scapegoat Heather has become. A lot of us have started calling her Queen Goat. The conversation ended with Shan, saying that she thinks her relationship with Evvie has been repaired but to let her know if she hears otherwise. This is so perfect. Shan is trusting me enough to tell her if Evvie says anything about not trusting her still and then I can provide this to Evvie to show Evvie I trust her more than Shan (which she should believe if she thinks F3 Spiral Stoners is a ride or die thing).

So I like to think phase one of this weekend's plan is complete.
2. Have Shan agree on voting Erik and save JR for next week to vote out Sara

While the Shan/Evvie conversation was going on, I started with Shan telling her I was thinking about her JR flipping idea more. I mentioned that I'm really not cool about flipping with JR but that I wouldn't vote him this week and would switch to Erik. Shan agreed that staying on a Kallpa vote for this week is best if we can't get enough numbers for support, but she also wanted to stress that she's not protecting JR. She likes the idea of using him as a shield as he's always going to be the one at the top of everyone's list. She is right, but JR has a good way of swaying people with his ideas.

I suggested what if we did wait on JR and instead vote Erik. Shan mentioned that Jaime told her that Erik is sneakier than he acts and that he's really social and manipulative. Perfect, there's our change in the vote. I mentioned that Evvie doesn't like Erik either and that maybe this is our best option to establish trust with her. If we vote Erik for this round, Evvie will come around to voting Sara out using JR and Leslie. Shan said she had no qualms about voting for Erik. She left this at me putting out a feeler to Evvie about voting for Erik and see if she was open to it. Done, step 2 is complete.
I'm not sure how long it will take for the rest of the steps to move forward this weekend, but I'll do my best to give updates on the plan before Sunday. Should all parts go correctly, Erik will leave and the plan for Sara's demise is all but certain.

Day 16 - Evening
Welp I just realized this whole time this should have been labelled Day 16. My mistake!

4. Have Abe (Myself) convince Deshawn to vote for Erik instead of JR
Well this one happened faster than I thought it would. Deshawn happened to be on this evening and we finally had the chance to catch up. He left very quick after the Jaime boot and after the challenge, so this was a big catch-up session with us. We've been talking about being a pair for a very long time (back to when I talked about the Canadian connection) and so I wanted to reconfirm myself with him.

I explained to Deshawn that we need to start figuring out our endgame plans. Things are getting down and we need to solidify that F4 we talked about with Evvie and Xander. I also mentioned that Evvie felt Deshawn was very loyal but a little guarded. I think firming the plan with her will be beneficial to us getting to the end. Deshawn agreed and said it's perfect as Xander has been working with us on the Sara fake F4 since Day 2-3. Evvie happened to come online around this time so Deshawn quickly talked to her and confirmed the F4 idea. It's crazy how fast everything is coming together and I was a little worried Evvie might see how much I just masterminded this plan, but she chalked it up to just how good our Day 1 Stoner plan was.  Which is true, but it was mostly me, let's be real.

Next was to mention the Shan plan. I explained that people were starting to feel their game slipping away and shifting toward flipping with Kallpa 3 and vote out Erik and then Sara next. Deshawn was a little surprised, but understood why things were moving this way. I think me constantly referring to Sara as Master Sara in passing has really started to take effect, and people really want her taken down. Deshawn agreed to the Erik vote and said that this would also give us a chance to trust JR and Leslie with a vote and then hopefully have them agree with the Sara vote next. I guess I'm okay with telling Kallpa, but Shan is going to be weary with the fact that Deshawn wanted to tell them. Unless Deshawn straight up tells Shan when they next speak. Deshawn mentioned that he'll tell Shan that I brought up the idea to vote Erik and tell her he's on board. He'll then see if Shan brings up the Sara vote next organically.

I'm a little worried about this Deshawn/Shan talk and just hoping Shan doesn't pry too much into Deshawn about his relationship with me. I am technically locked with Deshawn and it *seems* like he's with me to the end, so he won't reveal too much to her about our relationship. At least he promised to me he wouldn't as Shan knowing how close we are wouldn't be good. Glad we're on the same page there.

A bonus to this step of the plan that also came out! I mentioned to Deshawn that there are rumblings of the Leslie vote being his. I said the rumors are coming from everywhere as everyone has been sharing their vote comments to each other. Deshawn was the only one that couldn't claim a vote comment because they've all been accounted for. He finally broke and told me that he was the one that voted for Leslie. Goddamn. I was not expecting that truth bomb. I had to reaffirm my trust with him and that I don't fault him at all for it. There's a lot of integrity in not voting for Jaime because you saw the genuine person she was and I wish I had the guts to do something like that. But we're playing a game of lying, deceiving, backstabbing, and cutthroat moves. So this is a misstep in the game of Survivor. This is another positive point toward the idea that Deshawn and I are super close. He hasn't told anyone in the game about this and now I have this information to of course, give out to Spiral (Evvie/Xander). Deshawn mentioned he will tell Xander and eventually Evvie to reaffirm the F4 trust we share, but it is really nice that I received this info first.

Deshawn also mentioned his boot order idea. His plan went as follows:

10 - Erik
9 - Sara
8 - Leslie
7 - JR
6 - Heather
5 - Shan

Evvie and I both agreed we like this order better. Xander is just going to be a hard sell on it. The nice thing though, is that Deshawn said in the event of a 3-3 tie (Evvie/Heather/Shan vs Xander/Me/Deshawn), he would go to rocks for us and would never vote us out. This is perfect. This will allow Xander to agree to Shan making it to 5. It is quite dangerous allowing Shan to go that far into the game, however. I'm hoping if she wins an immunity along the way to top 5, he'll decide she needs to go a lot sooner. Makes me wonder if I should not win anymore immunities for a little while as it'll make me a consideration just like Shan.

So all in all, my conversation with Deshawn created some great avenues for me. It reaffirmed our bond as a F2, a possible F3 with Xander, trust to know he voted Leslie, and get on board to vote Erik. Looks like we don't even need Xander to tell Sara about the Erik vote if we don't want to. Evvie will probably still be able to change Heather's mind and I still have to see if Shan would want this to be a more unanimous vote, but so far we have the following:

Voting for Erik - Me, Shan, Evvie, Deshawn, JR, Leslie, Xander
Voting for JR - Sara, Heather, Erik (?)

My conversation with Deshawn ended with him going to talk to JR about this Erik vote. He needs to warm him up to conversation and see where his head is at before dropping the Erik idea. I'm hoping JR is more open to it and I'm starting to realize we might need to tell Sara and Heather about this vote. Otherwise, it could cause problems during the Sara blindside next round.
I'm sure I'll have a lot more info to share this weekend. Will share more tonight/tomorrow.

Honest Abe! Loving how you're calling the game so far, your confs are still so killer!

I think I saw you coin the term "Xander'd" the other day. For the lurkers who missed it - what does getting Xander'd entail? I loved the way you used it at the time.

To follow up that line of questioning - how would that sort of term look applied to the rest of your tribe mates? What does getting JR'd look like? Shan'd or Heather'd? How about Honest Abe'd? Break it all down for me brother! Keep up the great work!

Hey Mike! Not sure I like 'Honest Abe' but I guess it's better than Asshole Abe...depending on who you ask.

Xander'd /Zan-derd/ - To break a rule in Stranded. Coined by Heather after JR was outing her for saying Sara's name as the merge boot target.

Evvie'd /Ev-eed/ - To never boot someone you see as a threat and eventually lose to them. This could possibly be myself, so we'll see if I get Evvie'd

Deshawn'd /Deh-schawned/ - To receive a sympathy vote against someone else the day you go home. Example, the Jaime vote. This could also be possibly myself, so we'll see if I get Deshawn'd as well!

Shan'd /Shh-anne-d/ - To be flipped on and go home in a blindside. Probably the scariest one of these and another that I could see myself being the recipient of.

Sara'd /Sare-aughd/ - To go home due to the current 'mastermind' of the game. Master Sara wills it, so it shall be done.

Heather'd /Heh-therd/ - To have a public freakout and threaten to Xander yourself. See Also: Xander'd

JR'd /Jay-arrd/ - To spend an entire challenge posting your disdain for the other competitors; receive multiple gifs aimed at you during this.

Leslie'd /Les-leed/ - To be pregnant during an ORG season. That's a lot of stress on that baby, gurl.

Erik'd /Ehr-ickd/ - To spend the entire ORG upside down and offline.

Day 16 - Night

Looks like it's going to just end with me and Deshawn talking. it sounds like JR is going to go with the Erik vote. Deshawn also asked him not to say anything to the other Kallpa to build trust with us and then we could do the next vote with him and target an Ancha (Sara). We're just discussing the plan over for the night and deciding what makes sense and to confirm our suspicions about everything are correct.

More tomorrow I'm sure!

Day 18

You know when all of Thanos' minions fail and he does his whole "Fine, I'll do it myself."? Kind of the situation here. Let's get into it!

3. Have Evvie convince Heather to vote for Erik instead of JR
Deshawn ended up telling Heather he heard it was Erik and she ended up asking me. I told her that yes, I heard Erik from Shan and Deshawn, just to make sure that the plan is seen more as theirs. I also told Heather that I'll vote Erik with her so we have some sort of unity and mentioned I would post my vote the same time as her so we have alibis for everything. Whatever gives Heather the idea we have some sort of good relationship.

5. Have Xander convince Sara to vote for Erik instead of JR

Sara ended up coming online and asking me what the plan was. I told her that the vote was Erik and she said she would have to prevote anyway so she'll but it in. Her only concern was that people might think she's protecting JR. She's got a point, but I guess she doesn't realize that JR has already decided to help plan her demise.

So that ties up all the ends for Erik. I did have a few conversations that are of important note before tonight's tribal.

Deshawn and I just confirmed all the plans and that it seems it'll be a blowout for Erik. I'm not sure how JR will feel about this but we're definitely going to work with him next vote if we have to do our crazy blindside.

Speaking of which, I talked to Evvie and told her about Shan mentioning Xander to JR. Evvie said she's not sure if we should believe JR but that if we do hear Xander's name straight from Shan, we'll have to do 'something crazy'. Oh man the idea of Shan going earlier than Sara makes me salivate. I hope it actually does happen.

Evvie was also having a lot of anxiety and doubts about herself and that she feels she's not putting enough effort into the game compared to Xander and I. I reassured her by giving her my 'Evvie'd' definition from my confessional. I need her to know that she is valued in our F3 Spiral Stoners crew and that each part of our plan to get to the end hinges on our mutual involvement. I also explained that people love her in this game and there's no way she couldn't win at the end.

I'm hoping I've reassured her enough and that she does see how much we need her. This game still has a long way to go and my end game success does hinge on her. I've spent so much of this game worried about losing to Evvie or getting blindsided by her and missed the more human part behind it all. She's sometimes distant or aloof because she has a lot going on IRL and that might have permeated the game more than I realize. I think this was a very real moment with Evvie and that it should confirm she really is with me. But you know me and my good ol' anxiety, questioning if it's all just an elaborate plan to keep me calm. It would seem a little convoluted to go this far just to blindside me though, so I really have no choice but to believe it.

Xander still hasn't shown up and we're almost an hour away from tribal. Not sure where he is tonight but hope he shows up soon. We don't necessarily need his vote this round but it'd be nice to just catch up and go over everything.

I think this will be my last update until tribal so wish me luck lurkers. This SHOULD be an easy vote now that all of our plan points are complete. But who the hell knows, this game is insane sometimes.
